While Apple just released the new operating system for Mac - Snow Leopard (10.6) - users have reported that when launching the open source browser, Firefox, the browser window is not brought into focus. Continue reading for a work-around.
When you launch Firefox on Snow Leopard most users have an issue where the browser window is not brought into focus. This means that you have to click once more to bring the focus to the browser window.
As most users, I too think this is extremely annoying. Actually it bothers me so much that I temporarily switched to Safari as my default browser.
But there's actually a simple way to fix it. A lot of Mac users - including myself - have installed an extension called "Growl". Growl is a unified messaging service that brings notifications on-screen for a users.
But with both Growl and Firefox installed on Snow Leopard you'll be able to replicate the issue where Firefox windows are not brought into focus.
The simple solution - Disable Growl until a permanent fix or patch has been released by either Growl, Apple or Mozilla.
